CEO MicroBlog
There’s no doubt about it, competition is fierce in any corporate community and those who become CEO’s are the exceptions to some pretty stiff rules.
A CEO or Chief Executive Officer is traditionally in charge of overseeing business operations in a corporate or business climate. Whether a company employs 20 or 2,000, it is the CEO’s responsibility to oversee subordinates and tend to a company’s or organization’s overall success in meeting major goals and objectives.
While it’s true that CEOs are generally paid more than subordinates, it is also true that CEOs earn their rewards. Executives are often paid for what they know as much as what they do.
Thinking of becoming a CEO? Consider just a few of a good CEO’s traits:
Discipline: Leaders must have excellent self-discipline and the ability not only set personal and business goals, but to achieve the required tasks to achieve them.
Education: Leaders crave education and seek to learn in any environment. While formal education is often preferred, many chief executive officers acquired their educations on the job. The key is to look for a lesson in every learning opportunity.
Foresight: Leaders have the ability to look beyond today and see the possibilities for the future. They must have the ability to understand the predictable consequences of actions and to anticipate logical reactions in certain situations.
Experience: Leaders accept challenges related to the knowledge and talents they have acquired by doing, watching, studying and accomplishing set goals.
Balance: Leaders understand the need for balance in life and pay close attention to their personal needs – mind, body and soul – in order to function at a high-paced, high-pressure rate every day. CEOs are expected to be at their best always in the presence of other business associates.
Marketing Savvy: Leaders in today’s business world know their customers and understand their customers’ thought processes, patterns, and habits. As business becomes more and more competitive, CEOs must make a greater effort to involve themselves in the process of marketing to well-researched products most likely to consume their goods and services.
Spirit: In order to live up to the responsibilities of an executive, one must have pure spirit and determination.
